Q: There is a huge Mobil station on the East Trail with a car wash where there seems to be some construction work going on. Is it going to be a Dunkin’ Donuts?

A: Expect at least four businesses to open soon at the former Tropiclean Gas and Auto Spa, 9995 U.S. 41 E., across from the Treviso Bay gated community and golf club.

Not only will the car wash, gas station and convenience store reopen there, but Dunkin’ Donuts and Beefstro’s Gourmet Beefs are headlining the new lineup.

Expect the entire complex to open by the end of February, said Keith Roman, director of operations for Gulf Coast Donuts LLC, the local franchisee for Dunkin’ Donuts.

“All the pieces are coming together now,” Roman said. “It’s going to be a nice spot.”

Last August, Gulf Coast Donuts purchased the nearly 4-acre property, which originally opened as Tropiclean in May 2008. Since then, the East Naples venture has had a couple of starts and stops, and has been vacant since 2014.

Now, Coastal gas will replace the Mobil pumps, and a full-service car wash will be operational again. The new Dunkin’ Donuts will be a full-service doughnut/coffee shop, Roman said, but the Chicago-inspired sandwich shop will be Beefstro’s Express, offering a more limited menu than Beefstro’s original three locations in the area.

“The menu will be scaled back to about half of the sandwiches, mostly beef and hotdogs and a few salads,” said Neim Malo, Beefstro’s president. “I don’t have an exhaust hood, so I can’t really do a lot of grilling. Again, it’ll be about 12 sandwiches total.”

After this project, another Dunkin’ Donuts is already planned for East Naples. The next location is targeted to open toward the end of this year or early next year on Radio Road near Airport-Pulling Road, Roman said.
